Just to put you a little at ease Oliver, we have a 99 32' class A 275 hp Ford V10 & 4 speed, & every time it pulls out of the driveway, it has in tow a 24' enclosed trailer loaded around 5500 lbs & we're grossing anywhere from 25,6 to 25,800 lbs & it does just fine in hills & flat ground.
To say it is a race car, I can not, but that is coming from somebody drove trucks for over 20 years & when we got this coach, I wasnt looking for a race car.
That 2005 F53 chassis your looking at, has a lot more improvements drive train wise over the 99 year we have, but you would need to drive an early model to be able to tell the difference.
The F53 once you get it, will need some mods made to the chassis to make it handle a bit better, something which all F53 owners have done. Simple things like switching bolt holes in the links for the swaybar to cut the sway down from passing trucks & high winds.
I would say, guessing about 80~90% of the F53 owners, have done these chassis mods to improve the handling of their coach.
