That's about all I had to do to gain convenient access to the AUX capabilities of the RV radio that Winnebago provided in our 2005 Itasca Class C. Very simple.

All you need is a "PIE" adapter. They are available online and from most stereo stores. This will allow up to 3 AUX inputs using the existing connector on the back of the stereo. I have a PIE adapter on my factory stereo (6-CD) and use of for my iPhone, Sat, and DVD audio.

The Itasca motorhome speakers I was referring to in my post above were installed back in the coach area by Winnebago, are pretty good size, and mounted within fairly large enclosures made-up of excess areas back in the cabinets.

Using the fade control in the stock RV radio that came installed by Winnebago, I reduce the cab speakers' output to zero so all sound from AUX sources comes out of only the speakers back in the coach area.

I would dump the stock E450 stereo and speakers, they are so poor sounding. Ours stopped working, so I replaced it with a Pioneer 2-Din DVD unit and 2 Infinity Kappa speakers. This unit also has a aux input that has a mini-stereo plug cable attached that we can plug into our smartphones. There is also a USB cable brought out that can have a USB memory stick loaded with music attached.

This produces great sound while driving. While stopped we primarily use the 5.1 surround sound DVD system that came with the rig.

My 2005 E450 Itasca motorhome's stock RV weather band radio has an AUX connector in the back in the back of it that I discovered after removing it from the cab dash. I plugged a short coaxial audio cable into this and brought the end of this cable out to the front where is lays on the engine doghouse cover for convenient access whenever I want to plug an external source of audio into it.

What I usually plug into it is another cable coming from the audio output of my widescreen laptop for watching movies on the laptop with it's sound piped throughout my motorhome using it's built-in surround speakers that are hardwired to the cab radio. The AUX input to the cab radio uses this same hardwiring so that you can route other audio sources into these speakers and then control the audio with the radio's loudness, balance, fade, bass, and treble functions .... very nice.

You sure it is a Ford stock radio. Many RV MFG. put in a after market radio. To fit there sound system.

Just going by what has been the case in all my MH's. My present dash radio is a Jenson. The AUX. conn. for it. Is set up with an iphon connector.
