2013 Daybreak 32H

Thanks for your personal feed back Jeff, I noticed the recliner was missing from this MH also. I looked at the MH yesterday It had every thing I was looking for in a short MH, 4 pass tru storage bays, 65 gals of FW, 5000 lbs CCC, 2 AC's in a 31 ft MH. I have not seen storage bays like this in any other MH of this size. The only problem was when I lifted the sofa to see the bed layout it was loaded with acorns, when I tried the AC's acorns and small pieces of foam came out of the vents. Tires and batteries were 7 years old, very noisy on acceleration compared to my 454 and about the same performance from 40-60 MPH. All in all I liked the MH but was afraid of the mouse infestation. Also the dealership was firm on their $79,995 price tag. Most of the other 32d's were going between $53-$69k on average. However they were all very far from my house.

We have a 2013 Daybreak 32HD that we bought new and we love it. After the back and forth to the dealer for the first couple of months for various repairs.(nothing major) it has been a great MH. 32 foot is really too short for the recliner that comes with them, so it is now in our stick and brick living room.
We turn both front seats all the way around and it works great for us. We paid around $91,000 for ours with full body paint. Only regret is buying from Camping World ( service after the sale was Bad)

First, its 5 years old, with a high price. New engine, well, that a selling point, not a price point, unless they are including a 3 year warrantee on the MH. With 7,000 miles on it, I would assume it was used for 2 years, for non-full timers.
In the end, You are the only one that has to be satisfied with the answers to the questions, but they must be asked, in my mind. Be it cars, trucks, houses, or RVs, they are all built by people, and people do make mistakes, and companies find it easer and cheaper to cover these mistakes up than to fix them.

These are very good questions that need a logical answer. They should make sense to you. You should look under the front end to make sure that everything was buttoned-up after the engine change, and to look over everything underneath. Even if you do not know about the underside, look for loose things, scrapes, or broken things, or things that do not look right. Same thing on the inside, be very critical, open everything, feel for solidness where there should be solid. Pull on things, make sure that everything does work, do not take their word for it. They are really proud of the unit, it seems from the price.
To me, there are some red flags on this unit, that's just to me.

Can't argue with that.

Considering how many V10 are on the road, don't forget E and F series trucks and Excursions, the engine appears to be pretty reliable piece of hardware. Maybe not to the point of the old VW air cooled flat 4 but nowhere even close to the rolling disaster that GM attempted in late 1970's with a V8 diesel.

Make an offer and see if they'll either counter or accept. If the offer is refuse leave your contact info and tell sales staff you're ready to negotiate when they are.

Used units are CONDITION, CONDITION, CONDITION. If it meets your expectations, offer what you are willing to pay. If they say "no" walk away. There are more out there

And who is the warranty with, the selling dealer or Ford? If the dealer tell them to keep the warranty and drop the price. Won't do you much good 3000 miles from home if the engine blows a second time which would a pretty rare event.

The warranty is from Ford. My feeling is a 2 year warranty on a replacement engine not done by the OEM is not something to boost the price because I think a factory install would be better than a dealership. I heard a story of a guy that had a dealer install a new engine and a wire was not installed properly and rested against a hot exhaust and caught fire. Has anyone heard of a new V-10 destroying itself?

Yeah, no. Take a look around at other similar coaches and other coaches in general. No need at all to pay over NADA.

That's asking price not what the coach may finally sell at which in most cases will be less. The original owner had the dealership replace the engine after it blew at 7000 miles, it was 5 days out of warranty and Ford would not reimburse him for it. The owner is an older guy who wants something smaller, after having such a bad experience he probably just wants to get rid of it. The MH came with full body paint it was not repainted and I think it was the dealers way to inflate the Nada price up to $79k. When I look up Nada for that MH I see $59k low retail and $71k ave retail I always thought a fair price was somewhere between.
