Tom, I had the TST TPMS on my 2007 Honda CR-V which also had the Honda built-in TPMS for the car itself. The TST system sensors just screwed on the rubber valve stems with no problems.
Now, my TST system didn't work well so I gave it away. It was one of the earlier systems and it made my coach tires lose air. I never spent so much time with my tires as when I had the TST system installed. I now just check my tire pressue before every departure and it has worked well for me so far.
I know the minute I drive down the road that I could pick up a nail but that's the way it is.
