24’ - 27’ floorplans.

Ok, after over 10 years in a long TT, I’m closing in on the floor plan decision for our first class c. My twin boys are 12 now, and instead of planning trips well in advance, hitching and hauling everything, we desire more spontaneity. Weekend, get up and go trips and tailgating for sporting events.

I’m looking at floor pans between 24’-27’. My boys and are I small, I’m only 5’8, 175lbs, so a bunk over cab and rear corner bed or slide out bedroom would suffice. I’m not certain about whether or not one u-shape dinette will be enough space, or if we should maybe go 3’ longer and add an adjacent sofa with a dinette.

If you’re bored, look over these 22’-26a Minnie Winnie floor plans and give me your pros and cons. I’m torn between all of the smaller ones; both 22s, the 25, and 26.

  • We had a 32' Class C with bunkhouse. We bought it when the kids were young, 8 and 6 and it worked well. By the time the oldest was 12, she grew out of the bunk and our youngest grew out of it shortly after.

I would seriously consider a longer Class C with dinette and fold out sofa, that way all 3 of you can have separate beds with room for a friend or two. Perhaps rent a shorter model with just the dinette and then rent a longer model with both and see which works best for you.

  • We have the 22M and love it but kids are grown. With your twins, something with a couch might be better fit. We had a 32ft class C and it was easy to just jump in and go. We often took it for an afternoon shopping trip.

We moved to the 32ft from 5'er for tailgating football games.
  • I think you would really enjoy going a little longer and getting a sofa as well. Only having a dinette to sit at can be a bit of a problem. With adding a sofa everyone has a little more space.

  • We're in the same kind of market, but leaning toward the Mercedes diesels especially the Tiffin 24TW or 24FW. I drove a 24TW yesterday and it's pretty quiet, much quieter than the Ford V-10.

The 24TW has one small slideout at the couch or dinette (both convert to a bed) and a bunk over the cab. In the back are twin beds that convert to a king. The one I drove had the optional hydraulic leveling jacks.

The 24FW has a full wall slide with a queen Murphy bed. The one we're looking at has a dinette that converts and no bunk over the cab.

We've owned diesel Class A motorhomes, but I'd like something we can park at home and our parking is very limited. We do have a spot where a 25' Class C motorhome will fit nicely. I brought the 24FW to the house, backed it into the parking spot and it fit with no problem.

We don't have kids, but we do have two dogs and a cat. The idea of quick trips with little to no planning is appealing. We can visit out of town friends and park in their driveway. I don't think we'll need a tow car since they're small enough to run to the store for anything we forgot to pack.
