26' Gasser Fuel Mileage?

With a truck with a 5.4 and 30 ft trailer we get 7 to 9 doing the speed limit of 65 to 70. Looking at A's because it will be a whole lot easier getting gas with 30' unlike a 20' truck and 30' trailer.
We are moving a small house, complete with a couch, dinette, bed, A/C furnace and the kitchen sink. If mileage is a big deal look into a VW TDI Jetta and a tent.
You can't have mileage and comforts. I choose comforts.
Just putting it in perspective.

x2 - I thought a 30' weighing 16k ould get great mileage. Still 7-9. Wind resistance is the big culprit and no matter how long, the face of an RV still has to push the same amount of air. Frankly I have no idea what my MPG is. I stopped tracking it long ago. I was starting to drive myself nuts. I still plan on taking the same trips so what's the point? Soooo many factors, wind, terrain, how it's loaded, traffic, speed, etc etc. It's really not worth worrying about. When I get asked my MPG, I just tell folks I get good mileage for an apartment.

I get 15 on week days, 20 on Saturdays and with enough praying 22 on Sundays.:B

I have a 26' 11" gasser and ill just say its not good. I've never seen 10mpg. On a good day 6. Then again I don't go slow. 70mph all day :)

You will find that length has very little to do with mileage. We started with a '76 Class C 21' for 4.5-5 mpg; next a 27' Class C with 460 in '89 Ford for 6-7; Next 35' Class A '96 Vortec 54 for 7-7.5 and now 8.1 38' Workhorse for 7.5-8mpg. Each one is longer and newer and gets better mileage. Now which power, age, and transmission are you asking about?

What year gasser? which eng and transmission does it have what is the weight? If it had a 454 and a 4 speed trans weighed 13,000lb or less I would guess it should get 10+ mpg based on my experience of 33 ft,454 4speed trans 15,000 lbs of 8.7 mpg over averaged over 70k miles.

Average around 7mpg with our 2011 vista 26 p. we tow a heavy toad and live in the mountains. Seen close to 10 one time without toad and not in the hills. If you expect better than 10 you will be disappointed.
