30 amp and one air conditioner

We are considering buying a Forest River Forester 3051S or 3011DS with a 15000 BTU air conditioner. It would be used for extended trips (2 to 3 months) to visit family between Florida and Houston, Texas. The fact that 30 amp limits us to only one air conditioner has us concerned. Is there anyone out there owning one of these or a similar size Class C and using it in this climate? If so, does the one air conditioner keep you comfortable? Thanks for any help you can give.
  • Folks, remember the OP will be in Fl. with its heat and tremendous humidity. A single AC is going to be running constantly and wont keep up in a rig that big. Heck, my RV is much smaller and its AC wont keep up in triple digits and high 90% humidity.
  • A lot depends on where you plan to stay. Out in the middle of a parking lot style campground or a nice shaded place? With a class c you should be able to wall off the driver area while parked with a curtain or similar object and reduce the area that needs cooling. I have a 31 ft Class a with a single AC and it seems to do an adequate job but we stay mostly in shaded state parks.
  • In that climate you are right to be concerned and I would want a second AC.
You could wire a separate 20A plug for it to plug into the pedestal if you really want that model.
