I drive thru Maryland all the time and so do thousands of 45 FT busses. I have no desire to go to California so that is really the only place that seems to use the 40 foot rule. I have driven lots of miles and height is height no matter if you are 36 or 45 ft long. Every state will let you travel somewhere and some places you might not fit. I have not run across one yet that I want to go to that I could not get in. Full timing will be much easier in a 45 than a 36 though it can be done.
