Mr. Mark, With the cruise control turned on and if you stay in your lane, you are correct, you should never hear any beeping. However, if the cruise control is turned off and you are in heavy traffic, you will hear the beeping a lot.
Therefore, every time you enter the highway in a traffic situation, you will hear beeping. Frankly, once I've checked my mirrors and the side view camera, the last thing I want to hear is beeping when I change lanes into an opening.
You may be correct but I drove both coaches 60 miles each starting and ending in city traffic (stop and go traffic) then onto the freeway and back and heard no beeping. I've never had that feature before so it's new to me.
