Adaptive Cruise Control

I have it on my coach and love it. It will maintain a user adjusted distance between you and the vehicle ahead, it slows down and will apply the Jake brake if necessary. I am able to turn it off though. The beeping you are referring to in my coach is the collision avoidance system, I get progressively changing lights, green to yellow to red and finally a beep if another vehicle is still getting closer. That happens in front of the coach or on ether side, I am also able to turn that off. It is surprising you cannot turn it off. What if it was to malfunction?
