Agent wants to switch me to Progressive Insurance

We had Allstate for all our insurance needs for 35 years until one year ago when we switched across the board to Hartford via AARP. All our policies are so much lower and with a little better coverage too.

One hassle with Allstate auto and RV insurance were the calls I had to make in spring and fall for seasonal use. Between the motor home & Corvette, it was double the hassle with individual policies. Hartford understands "limited use" and so that consideration is already applied into their combined auto and RV policy. Much cheaper, more coverage, and no calls to make.

A year into the switch and so far it's been a good decision.

rjstractor --Since you live in WA, as I do, you might want to check into Mutual Of Enumclaw. they have been great and we have had 2 major RV incidences. I am not sure what other states they are licensed in, but we have been very satisfied both with service and premiums.

Had Progessive for many years when I had a motorhome, they were great on an awning claim. We only used their roadside assistance once and it was awful. The contractor they sent couldn't handle a simple tire change on a class C. Having said that, I think this was an isolated instance and not a systemwide problem with Progressive.

I was an insurance broker for 35 years and sold many boat, auto and rv policies with progressive. Seldom had any complaints with the claim service they provided my customers. I now am retired and have them for our fiver and am very pleased with the premiums. Do not care for the political stand the founder of the company has but I can agree to disagree. They are a good company.

Two years ago my Allstate rep told me to go elsewhere for RV insurance because Allstate could not compete with the rates, I found Progressive through an agent was within a few dollars of Good Sam insurance, no claims so I cannot not comment on their customer service.

I made the switch to Progressive insurance last month saving me about $300 a year for just the motorhome. Since we have just about everything we need for the RV, I don't see any need at this time to renew my Good Sam/ Camping World membership of $30. I can do that at a later date if necessary. Also, I am not renewing my Good Sam Roadside assistance of $130 as the Progressive policy has that included and the provisions seem comparable.

Have had Progressive on RV and vehicles for 8yrs now. Very satisfied.

Had "Progressive On-Line" for about 10 years without a claim other than glass, 5 years into fulltiming they jumped our rates about 60%. No longer with Progressive, our "live" insurance agent in South Dakota switched us to GMAC with the same coverages for basically what we paid before the rate increase from Progessive. Have heard the GMAC sometimes raises rates whether at fault or not, with a claim, we still haven't had any claims since the switch other than a windshield, with minimal rate increases in the past 3 years.

Wierd. Quote from Progressive for full timers insurance for us, was less than half of GMAC, with more coverage.

Same for me when I full timed. If I remember Progressive users Foremost for their FT RV coverage. They were less money more coverage. Worked well for us.

Progressive for both TV and Camper for many years. My friend of 20+ years is also my agent.
