IMHO train horns are obnoxious.
The Volvo had a whimpy horn so I installed a pair of Hadley horns protruding through the front bumper. Installed them right after a 4 wheeler made a right on red right in front of my 37k coming downhill to the light. They do get attention when you need it!
23" & 29" made a nice sounding pair as I recall. You need a pair with different tones. As one horn salesman told me while I was shopping, "a single horn will always sound like a single horn."
