Aluminum Rim only rated for 60PSI

I have a 2013 Jayco Greyhawk 31FK with the optional aluminum rims. When I pulled one of the wheels off, I noticed on the backside of the rim a stamping stating "Made in China" and "MAX 60 PSI". The Jayco placard on the door states 80 PSI for the rear wheels. Since when is it O.K. to go above ratings whether it's for weight, tires, or rims?
  • I'd certainly call Jayco and escalate it to get a quick solution. You may want to go back to stock rims and get refund.

Wondering if there is any chance dealer swapped rims at some point?

Also you may want to report it to nhtsa.gov. It may get others like it off the road more quickly. This could lead to property damage or worse ..injury.

It is highly unlikely a 31 footer would be running rear tire pressures below 60 PSI.
  • Motorhome does have dual rear wheels and the tires are rated @ 80 PSI

The E450 chassis needs 80-PSI in all four rear tires to support the 9500-LB rating of the rear axle. Rating of any wheel shipped with an E450 should be no lower than 80-PSI. Tire pressure needed to support the 5000-LB FRONT Axle rating is around 65. Because of the rear axle rating, the tires need to be Load Range "E".
  • Does it have dual rear wheels. I have a 02 Ford dually and max air pressure is 60 psi for my rears and 55 psi for the fronts at max load.
  • " The Jayco placard on the door states 80 PSI for the rear wheels." :H

Rims should be at least rated for MAX LOAD/MAX PSI on tire side wall
  • +1, If the GVWR sticker calls out 80psi and the wheels say 60psi I would be contacting Jayco for new wheels.
  • What is the maximum PSI on the tire sidewall? If it is more that 60 I would be asking Jayco for new rims.
