Hindsight is great and you guys have given some great advice-hopefully it will be implemented if we are ever in a similar situation. We should have slowed to an almost stop, which would have forced the car directly behind us to take a second to "think" about the situation. My husband was watching and tried to turn back, when he heard the tires squealing and saw him coming around. That is probably what saved our vehicle from any real damage. It was a two lane road, with the beginning of a center lane area, as we were nearing a left turn area. My husband said he probably did go over the yellow line with his left tires, but we were not making a really wide turn or we would have been hit more side rather than catching our wheel well/ fender. In Idaho it is legal to go around on the right, as long as you do not leave the roadway-according to the county deputy. Not sure if that is just when someone is turning left or what. It was probably a valuable lesson to learn and just might save us in the motorhome on down the road. Thanks for all the thoughts and suggestions.
