I neglected to note that if you swing left when initiating a right turn during your driving test for a Class A Non-CDL you will most likely fail the test.
As Southpark said, the instructions say if you need more room to complete the turn you should intrude into the oncoming lane of traffic. In effect you need to go deeper into the intersection before initiating the turn.
I make a right turn coming into my sticks and bricks from a four lane street onto a two lane street. I cannot do it without intruding a bit into the oncoming left turn lane. Fortunately with my size people stop when they see me coming into their lane. I also have the advantage of the fifth wheel hitch being substantially behind my rear axle, which means the fiver tracks close to the track of the truck, more like a flat tow that a fiver.
