- big_jim_2Explorer IIDon't be hard on the guys math he just forget the period 1.2 mpg.
- rgatijnet1Explorer IIIYou see the tow bar on the back? He was figuring the AVERAGE mileage while towing. In other words the fuel mileage from A to B for two vehicles. So if he used 10 gallons of gas to go 60 miles it would be 6 MPG for one vehicle. Since he was towing, then he has to figure the AVERAGE for two vehicles or 12 MPG. It is all in how you do the math. :B
- JumboJetExplorer12 mpg = 6 mpg to destination + 6 mpg coming home.
You guys just don't understand guv'mnt math. - RLS7201Explorer IIHis wife probably does the math. GRIN... OK, go ahead, flack jacket on.
MY 95 528" F53 averages 7 MPG.
Richard - J-RoosterExplorerSweet, Thanks for posting the pic!
- Mike_HohnsteinExplorerMore like 5 @ 55 mph. Probably a few pit falls, not for the faint of heart, I'd show the seller 5k, if he's wise he'd take it.

Those old Bluebird Wanderlodges were rock solid. With some restoring, that old Bird will hold together easily for another 39 years....

I didn't even know what these were until I was at a CG that the manager wanted to know if I wanted to move to the other side of the CG because a Bluebird Wanderlodge rally was going to start that night.
I decided to stay where I was parked. So I was smack in the middle of about 40 of them!
Just gotta say the owners were the best group of Rv'ers I have ever had the pleasure to meet AND their coaches? Wow!!! I was invited in to almost all of them, they are one proud group of RV owners, and they are just unbelievable inside.
All were either all original and/or restored to original condition. They were drop dead incredible looking inside and out. AND so well made it would make any one of the newer RV manufacturers run and hide.
And the horns....they all had horns on them. You couldn't help but smile everytime they turned them on. :C - timmacExplorerTake a hard look at the roof, looks like rain has no where to go, there has to be roof leaks.
12 mpg, no way, not even down hill, I bet its more like 6 mpg. - SoCalDesertRid1Explorer III was thinking about 5 mpg would be a realistic number for an old gasser like that in a heavy rig, especially running at todays highway speeds.
That is a cool old rig though. It would be awesome to repower it with a Caterpillar 3208E and an Allison MD3560CR. - TrackrigExplorer III had one of those engines in a small cab over tractor that I hauled about 25,000# behind. It used so much gas, I ran out one time and had to go hitch hiking down the road for gas. Mine probably got more like 6 mpg.
