Any problem with the refirigerator behind the driver?

I see some floor-plans where the residential refrigerator is right behind the drivers seat. I assume its far enough back to not effect the normal operation of seat and/or seat back. But is it safe? Do you have to worry about it ending up in your lap or is it just as safe as one at the other end of the kitchen 15 feet back?

  • It just seems like a strang place to put a refrigerator. It's frustrating how many coach builders make their coach. And Ed you're as right as can be about the view. Just a dumb place and another coach I need to take off my list. What are designers thinking of. They will take a 40 foot coach and then put in a small couch that fits two. That borders on stupid to the max!
  • My only problem with the refrigerator behind the driver's seat is that means the kitchen is right behind the "cockpit". I personally like the living room behind the driver and co-pilot so that you get the big panoramic view from the living room seats. Just my personal preference.

  • All refrigerators that I seen are bolted to the floor or wall! My slide out is behind the drivers seat.
  • It's probably safe unless you get hit by a truck and then you have other problems. I'd be more concerned about the seat tilt as you mentioned and whether the front seat can still swivel to the rear as most class A seats can when you have several people over for the evening.
