Anyone in the KC area willing to go with me?

Hi Everyone,

I am going to look at a RV in central MO tomorrow and was wondering if anyone would be willing to come along to check out the RV with me as I am a newbie, and will likely buy this one.
I would be coming from Topeka through KC and on to Fulton Mo, I70 the whole way.
I know its short notice but its the way it came together.
Thanks in advance!

  • Sounds like a nice rig but due to the high maintenance cost on diesel engines I would pay to have shop check it out before signing on the dotted line.

If you really really like it put down a deposit and sign an agreement that you will purchase based on mechanical check-up at a diesel shop with a full refund on the deposit if a major problem is discovered.
  • As you compare prices of GVs, pay attention to which ones are on Foretravel's own chassis, and which ones are on a production chassis. That makes a difference in the value. Easiest way to tell is if the basement has no frame in it. I think the term Unihome means the chassis is built by Foretravel. May not be the end of the world, but should effect the purchase price.
  • Man! Talk about bad timing. I normally reside in Gladstone, MO and would love to go take a look see at that Foretravel. But the wifey insists that we stay here in Valdez, Alaska a little longer. Be home sometime on October, if you can wait. GRIN

  • Mike: I don't have a link as it's not officially up for sale yet, but it is an 88 Foretravel Grand Villa diesel pusher, 40'. Its been completely redone and updated, everything works, and the couple selling have lived in it the last few years. The only thing it will need is new tires ($3k).

V10guy: Thanks! I'm sure there is a local RV shop, I'll check that out.

    Klueck: Thanks!
  • wish I was closer, I'd go with you, but I'm a bit far.
  • I would go in a heartbeat if I lived nearby...but i don't.

My only advice is sleep on it. I am a very impatient person and its easy for me to say it..I've been in that position and have screwed up because my emotion got the best of me..Newbie or not, just my opinion is to sleep on it...don't buy it tomorrow.

Is there a local RV shop in that area that can look it over?
