- WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Nothing like spending a couple of days with the family and some good old fashioned family time. It's Great!
Hope your Holiday weekend is going GREAT! - So, here are the results of my labor today, - well some of my labor....
I've got both counters secured with adhesive and screws, and by tomorrow they will be married. Married? Yes... The 2 shall become 1, and it will be very difficult to separate them. Lol.
Here we go..... Those are not coming apart, and I figure after a few coats of Por 15, that should keep the black walnut from absorbing or losing moisture.
Remember, the test I did with a small piece of plywood, and after coating it, submerged it in water, and it did not absorb any moisture? Yea, that one. Walnut should be stable.
Then again, time will tell. - I also added a bunch underneath to make sure the walnut would stay tightly against the plywood while the adhesive dries.

Also added some along the front edge of the counter as well, to hold that down as well.
- I added a few screws at the end of the counter to make sure the end didn't curl up.

- Got my Loctite adhesive out today and proceeded to smear the underside of the black walnut to glue it to the plywood underneath.
After using my little plastic piece to spread the adhesive around, and make sure the whole bottom was covered, it was time to start adding screws from underneath the plywood.

I would think it would be more comfortable sleeping in a bed than on a countertop.
I wanted to glue this down today, but decided to sleep on it one more night, "just in case".
I like it! Nothing like a good sense of humor while we're going along. Thanks for the laugh!- STBRetiredExplorer

I wanted to glue this down today, but decided to sleep on it one more night, "just in case". - Here is my walnut cut to proper size for the counter. I only photo'd one side, but I did both.
If you notice, the last 12" at the other end of the counter has no walnut there.
That's because I have something special planned for that area. I want to add a 12" piece of tile there on both sides.
I really wanted to add that to the other side for the area next to the stove, and decided to keep the look balanced, so I'll be adding one to this side as well.

I cut my black walnut counter top pieces to the correct size. They had been just rough sized before this.
I also drilled some holes in the plywood that the walnut will be glued to. I intend to use 1" screws from the bottom to help fasten the walnut while the adhesive cures.
I plan on covering the entire bottom of the walnut slab with adhesive, like I did when I glued the insulation to the plywood walls and ceiling.

Unless you have a grand desire for a new phone, you can replace the screen only for a whole lot less money!
Totally aware of that. Unfortunately, I have owned this phone for about 3.5 years. That series phone (Samsung Galaxy S7), was released about a year before I bought it, and Samsung's no longer issuing updates for it. :( (sigh).
Either way, the semi screen repair buys me some time to make a decision on my next move. Maybe I can get my niece to buy me a new phone! Lol...
