Our gas dropped to 1.27 per litre here today with the discount the superstore discount Yeaaaa. :).

Hey great link. Except I think you forgot to update the US dollar to Canadian Rate. It currently takes 1.08 to buy a US dollar, not the .98 they use for an example. So the numbers at 1.34 per litre as he mentions are 4.70 per US gallon. Canadian gallons are irrelevant as no one uses them anymore.

Hmm. Think that's off a bit. 3.78 litres per us gallon. Canadian dollar to US dollar conversion at .93. Works out to 4.82 per gallon US.

We can't wait to get there. Campbell river is on the list as well as the forest of giants (can't remember the real name). We are leaving after the long weekend in September.

Holy cow. Fuel is expensive on the island. That's close to 1.60 per litre. We are paying around 1.28 in the BC interiour. Quite a difference. We will be there in. Few weeks. Think we will fill before we take the Ferry. That has to be the most expensive in Canada by a long shot. All part of living on an island I guess.

Well,maybe my calculations for my American friends is wonky. I pay usually $1.37.9 a litre for regular gas, 151.9 for premium(for my BMW) but it is down to 134.9 today 24Jul but usually goes up in the busy summer useage months. Of course, the scenery is beautiful here, and you dont have to drive far for a place to stay, visit, dry camp, RV resort etc so although gas is higher than Stateside, you dont have to travel as far, on average. Dont forget to check out Campbell River on the Island(Salmon Point RV or Browns Bay RV resorts) as you can watch the cruise ships sail past your 'door'. Come on over. Even the wildlife are laid back here...

PS Gas is cheaper here than anywhere in the Vancouver and outlying areas.

I think I agree with the consensus here. People will adjust to rising fuel costs by buying different types of rigs or modifying their travel styles vs. giving up traveling.

I did this some years ago. I bought a modest position in some oil stocks and whenever gas goes up, the stock goes up at least as much. I don't sell, but it makes me feel better when I'm at the pump.

We Canadians are used to paying way more for our gas or diesel that you are Stateside. I pay over 6$Cdn per gal(litres x current price) for my Sprinter which gets usually 30MPG(based on our Imperial gallon). That is likely to increase. I never worry about price or I would just quit Rving.
