Bad Lippert O ring

I have had a small hydraulic leak from the pump system for a while. I finally narrowed it down to the o-ring between the plastic tank and the pump itself. It's a 3.5" o-ring. Looks like whoever installed it did not get the o-ring in level all the way around as it had a twist in it. Ok, I'll just get a new o-ring from Lippert and replace it. Well, much to my surprise, Lippert will not sell replacement o-rings. What a crappy way to treat a customer who spends mucho money on their products. I could probably rotate the o-ring to the top so that it's above the fluid level but I'd rather fix it right. Other than Amazon, where could I get a replacement O-ring that has a flat surface? Lippert stinks!

  • I would clean the aluminum and the plastic tank and dry. Thes use a Permatex type gasket maker and put a bead and reinstall. There is no real pressure on the system from the reservoir tank. Other than the pressure of the liquid sitting in the tank. Doug
  • I would guess that any hydraulic shop should be able to help you. Most any area will have a shop that repairs the millions of farming and construction equipment that uses hydraulic rams on the equipment. I am sure that Lippert did not re-invent the wheel and probably used an O-ring that was already in use on another ram.
