Batteries

I have 4 U2200 Interstate Batteries for the coach. These batteries will be 6 years old in December, the chassis battery is the same age I replaced that battery two months ago. My question I have one battery that one cell uses more water than the other batteries and that one cell uses more than the other cells in that battery. I don't have anything to check the batteries except the panel inside which reads in the 13 volt range. I don't do any boon docking so no problem there. Not going any where this winter. If I keep a eye on water will the battery be ok until spring. It is plugged in to shore power. Sorry for long post.

  • Roy,

You say you have 4 ea U2200.
Is that two pair just for the house bank?

If it is and you are on shore power and concerned, just disconnect the string that has the worrisome cell. Wait a few days and buy a cheap meter some where. Then see if the disconnected string has lost enough to be a problem, then check the battery with the bad cell and compare it to the other in that string.

If you come back here with that information, someone should be able to tell you how much problem you actually have.
