- tatestExplorer II3-4 hours, the best you can do is high desert, hope to find some forests. It will be cooler than LV, but might still be over 100 F in daytime during the hot season. I've done field work in most of the high desert areas within five hours, July and August there aren't many places cool during the day, but almost always dry enough that your personal cooling system works if you stay hydrated.
- rv2goExplorer IIThe campgrounds up on Mt.Charleston are over 7000ft. Should be cooler up there than Vegas.
- JanssExplorer III like that place too! Also some campgrounds along Hwy 14 near there, like Duck Creek and Navajo Lake.
- rexlionExplorerIf you really want to cool off, try Point Supreme at Cedar Breaks National Monument.... at 10,000 feet elevation.
- JanssExplorer IIIf you like Forest Service campgrounds, try Bonito or Pinegrove campgrounds in Flagstaff (on the outskirts). Weather is cooler in Flagstaff due to high elevation (about 7000').
