Black tank won't drain...

Our black tank will not drain... When we open the drain for the black tank only a little water comes out at a time. I looked around online a little and found a few suggestions...use the awning rid to clear the clog...leave the toilet flusher open while draining...apperently they make a blank tank de clogged...? Any other suggestions/tips...?

  • How do you know the tank is NOT empty? If you are sure that there is still something in there you might want to get one of THESE. You can get one at Walmart...not the same brand, but will do the same job. Hook up a garden hose to it and back flush into the tank.

However, if you are going by the monitor...you might just be empty as those things are pretty much worthless for accuracy.

  • There are a lot of suggestions out there including adding a bag of ice and taking a drive so that the ice moves around. Adding Calgon (water softener) at the same time. There's a wand that you hook to your hose and stick it down your toilet - like a power washer but not as strong. I don't think I'd stick something rigid as you suggested up the pipe for fear it would tear or puncture what you don't want it to.
