- down_homeExplorer IINot going to get upset about it. Rarely hear them use the horns when exiting. Wife has a couple, of times when kids do the pull the horn sign.

Wow, the responses on this topic were more than I was expecting. I guess that I'm the odd man out. I just don't enjoy a horn blast as much as others here. I've visited NYC and see that they don't enjoy horns either. There is a $300 fine for using the horn within the city;)
I feel that horns should be used in an emergency. Like the boy who cried Wolf, if everyone used them, then nobody would pay attention to them when it was important. I find a lot of construction vehicles and tow trucks will leave their flashing lights on all the time. Pretty soon, nobody will notice when real emergency vehicle are running their lights.
I am leaving the campground today. Do what you want, but when I leave, I won't be making a noisey scene:)
I'm with you, I'm more quiet and only use my horns as a warning signal. - rockhillmanorExplorer II

Few years back when Bluebird was still making the Wanderlodge it was the 'in' thing to have the musical horns on those coaches. Many years there was a Wanderlodge rally from all over the nation in Perry Ga - just south of Ft Valley where they were built. When the rally closed and attendees started to leave it was sorta startling to hear these thing playing everything from On the Road and Dixie to the Calvary Charge. Seemed like fun then
I was staying at the CG where they held that rally. The CG manager asked me if I wanted to move to the far side of the park for the weekend to be away from all the activity. I said no I'd stay where I was at. I'm glad I did it was a blast!!
Yup they all had different tunes on their horns and played them every time one came in or left. It was one of the best weekends I spent at a CG. Great group of people. - RayChezExplorerYea! I really do not see anything wrong with a little toot of the air horn.
Some years ago there was an RVer that wanted to install locomotive air horns. Now that would get Bob b going. LOL!
Reminds me when I left Lake Grant campground in the sierra's my friend was out in the middle of the lake on his boat fishing. So as we were driving down the exit road I blew the air horns to say good bye. I guess he heard me because he was waving back. - kyspeedyExplorerThis is a very common practice when pulling a substantially sized boat out of a slip. It's kind of the same thing. Maybe he just intended it as a courtesy to give others a "heads up".

Canada requires you to blow horns in tunnels.
Three short eastbound.
Two short one long westbound.
How about north and south??
The are none! Canadians go south on bridges to the US
(ducking & running)
I'm waiting for confirmation from RVNDMV :) - notevenExplorer III

Some of you people would really roast me - I had air horns on my motorcycle and used them quite frequently.
A friend of mine some 25 years back had a Georgie Boy with a nice set of air horns. He told the story of driving through a park and an obvious to him homeless man was asleep under newspapers on a park bench. As he approached, he blew his air horns and the man rolled off the bench. Now that was bad!
My 139dB air horn on the bike has caused a couple multitaskers to drop the texting device... they must have thought, like, that horn is loud, OMG! - SkiingSixPackExplorer

OK to express your views lets just keep them in the same tone one would use around a friendly campfire with mixed company and children..
Thanks
