If you have ever been on a cruise ... I mean like a ship ... you know Carnival, Holand America, Royal Caribbean, .... when the ship is about to (disembark) leave dock, it always blasts it's horn. They usually blast a few minutes before disembarkation to warn everyone to get off the ship or get on the ship (depending). This is usually BEFORE leaving. Then right before it starts moving, it will blast it's horn again.
The idea of blowing you're horn when leaving (especially with RV's) comes from the nautical concept. There are hundreds of nautical concepts that we use with our RV's, terms and activities.
Unfortunately, if "they" are going to be true to the nautical experience, they should toot their horn before pulling out of their campsite and then quit. To blast the horn all the way through the campground and even continue on the road is absolutely stupid and not true to the original concept. But them, others are just self-centered jerks, who get a kick out of 'tooting their own horn!' Sorry, couldn't resist tossing that in there!
