Wow, the responses on this topic were more than I was expecting. I guess that I'm the odd man out. I just don't enjoy a horn blast as much as others here. I've visited NYC and see that they don't enjoy horns either. There is a $300 fine for using the horn within the city;)
I feel that horns should be used in an emergency. Like the boy who cried Wolf, if everyone used them, then nobody would pay attention to them when it was important. I find a lot of construction vehicles and tow trucks will leave their flashing lights on all the time. Pretty soon, nobody will notice when real emergency vehicle are running their lights.
I am leaving the campground today. Do what you want, but when I leave, I won't be making a noisey scene:)
