Where you using the clip pins that it comes with?

In my travels I have seen many RV's where they came loose. IMHO I don't think they are foolproof they get loose and sloppy over time and don't click down secure enough for me.
I replaced both of those clips with hitch pins which blueox sells as a kit. One for the tow bar and 2 for the toad. All keyed alike. They don't pop open or come loose. And I don't have to worry about someone lifting my tow bar off the MH when not towing and I don't have to keep taking it on and off to keep it from being stolen.

I have the same setup. I only worry about what would happen in an emergency. Say the MH caught on fire. I would never be able to unlock the pins and disconnect. Of course I probably could not do it with the supplied pins.
Yes there are some on that side of the fence with locking pins. If you have a DP they seem to always catch fire in the rear so there is usually no saving the toad anyway.
All I care about if a fire happens is that all humans and pets are out of the MH!
In a gas MH fire you might have a little more time and actually all you have to do is 'unhook the entire tow bar' and push the toad to safety, that's only ONE locking hitch pin you need to get out under duress!
So if a fire is of concern I guess you could just not use the locking pin on just the 'tow bar' when towing.
