I hate to be a party pooper, but I have a friend who bought a new big Tiffen DP and it's been one big bundle of trouble, and getting service on it has been a nightmare. If you go to the factory in Alabama you get in line and wait up to a week to get service and are only allow so many hours of service and if they don't get at all of the problems you get back in line. The dealer service has been worse yet. But he did get some problems fixed an a independent dealer where Tiffen did pick up some of the cost. I won't say anymore
As I said there are negative stories out there, but not from lack of Tiffin trying. A new coach under warranty jumps the line when those of us with older coaches are waiting for service. It is normal to wait for a bay to be available. There is a bit of a gamble that the coach owner must make. A shorter wait will get a THREE HOUR service time. That's two techs for three hours and then you are out and at the bottom of the list for a full service bay. A longer wait gets a a full service bay where they keep working until it is done.
Coach owner's choice! They will provide guidance, but in the end it is up to you. I chose the 3 hour service and they buttoned up the last project as the clock ticked up on 3 hours! Included were changing the shower door, replacing the lousy knockoff inflatable mattress with a Sleep Number (my cost), service the jacks, repair some broken cabinetry and fix an electrical problem with the dash fans. I prioritized the tasks so that anything they couldn't get to was not a show stopper and we wouldn't need to wait for fll service to get to it.
Also they had techs in the camping area working on television issues and other repairs that did not require a bay. I can see where some people might be unhappy waiting in Camp Red Bay, but it beats the H out of letting the coach rot in a dealer's service area and not be available for travel.
The worst part of Red Bay is it is a dry county and you need to drive 10 miles out of town to buy a 6 pack :) That and not much to do other than commiserate with other Tiffin owners are about it.
