Ours is set to 40PSI and #3 or #4 - it only activates under heavy breaking (never when the exhaust brake is activated).

Not to hijack this, but with the wireless remote, are you s'posed to have the red lites lite up when the toad brakes go on to let you know that it's working? Mine does not.
I had a problem with it blowing the inline fuse and then the nose fell off of the plug and so I had to cut it off and put a new one on and it still blew fuses. Discovered that the converter for the trailer lites had burned u and was causing a hot car problem and that was what was blowing the fuses.
When I called Brake Buddy and gave him the serial number, he was surprised that I had just gotten it in late 2013 as it was manufactured in early 2010.
the Lights on the wireless remote should activate when the brakes on the toad are activated (mine does).
I found that the cigarette lighter plug got really hot so i wired mine using an SAE style quick disconnect - the BB wiring doesnt get hot at all now & i never have to worry about whether the plug has fallen out of the cigarette lighter plug.
