All F53 are not the same. Almost every thing about the F53 changed in 1999. Including the the brake caliper mounting design. So all the old brake issues are pretty much eliminated. But those less informed are still bashing Ford brakes about sticking slide pins. Your hydroboost brake system does have a back up system that is driven by a 12 volt motor. NO vacuum used on your brakes. I suspect you'll find a brake pad loose and floating on its mounting.
