Buddy Brake system ?

Not sure what kind of brake buddy you have, but the brake buddy I have the only adjustment it has is for pressure applied on the brake pedal adjustment to how much pressure you want to apply according to the weight of the vehicle it is installed on. If it is a light toad naturally you do not need much pressure, but if you are towing a heavy toad, you have to increase the air pressure on the brake buddy. That is the only adjustment my brake buddy has.

I only had one emergency application where if it had not been for the brake buddy, I think I could have had a major accident on highway 101 just going into Los Angeles. I applied the air brakes all the way down and I was surprised how fast the air brakes with the assists from the brake buddy stopped the coach. Now we are talking about 34K lbs total.

So I can say that in an emergency application the brake buddy does engage, but if you just come to a light slowing down gradually, I do not believe the brake buddy engages.

I set mine to only apply during hard braking and with break away.

Yes it applies to the brakes to the toad every time you stop at specific force. You can adjust the brake buddy accordingly as to when you want it to engage in braking.

Albeit it is not going to stop your MH but if you have just panic stopped and sliding....I sure would want my 4,000 lb toad being 'braked' and not 'pushing' me those extra few feet that might result in an accident.

Yes...it applies the brakes...set it for emergencies...sort of last resort

I had problem with my Brake Buddy in that it applied the brakes and did not release. I have switched to Air Force One and have been very pleased with the operation.
