Papa & Nana, I haven't had a chance to really use mine yet, but from past experience running the generator, mine is old and noisy and not much of the noise is from the exhaust. Last month we were camped on the beach in CA and ran the genny a lot. The cooling fan downdrafts and dug a hole in the sand about 6" deep and two feet in diameter. I think that is where most of the noise come from.
I called mine noisy, and mean in comparison to a new Cummins-Onan and especially the Hondas. Mine is after all, 24 years old.
