Camco Gen-turi generator exhaust system

The self-adhesive option was useless for me (didn't hold). The standard kit got mine at least 6" above the roof line. I strap it to the roof rack so I didn't have to drill holes in the side of my RV.

They work great and IMO worth the $$ vs. engineering and putting together a homemade solution. The storage bag is nice, too.

EDIT: I forgot mine didn't have suction cups, but had a self-adhesive mount that didn't work.

Previous post on this subject. I use my $18 one often and have found it operates cooler than the $120 ones.

We wouldn't camp where we have to run the generator a lot without it. Fume problem is nonexistent with a Genturi. You could build one cheaper but the running around to get all the pieces seemed to be more trouble than just buying the Genturi.

It works great. Just hope your neighbors uses one.
On our last visit there, I used my home made one.
Sure wish the class A to my right had one. His diesel generator exhausted right into my front door.

While I think the retail price is outrageous, mine works fine.

I mounted the hook loops using adhesive AND screws.
Only problem I've had is I lost one of the S hooks; easy enough to replace.....then I pinched them tight onto the cord.

Yes. I should have mentioned that we use ours at NASCAR. You're packed in like sardines. Neighbors appreciate you having one. If you don't, you can be sure your neighbor will have a conversation with you about it.

We've used our Gen-turi for days at a time, and really appreciated not only the exhaust fumes being released up high, but the amount of noise that went with them.

That homemade version linked above may be cheap, but it's also not doing the job as well as the Gen-turi does.

Not only does it do as well, it does better as it has more volume which mixes more air making it run cooler.

On edit: My comments below referred to the dryer hose version shown in holstein13's photo that your link brings up. My apologies for the confusion. I expect your version works fine...

Installed as shown in your post, it doesn't get the fumes up high enough where the prevailing breeze can carry them away, nor will it carry the exhaust noise high enough to be effective for noise reduction. Heat rises, and that loop down on the ground is limiting the flow rate of the air. It could be effective, if the hose was run vertically up the side of the coach to a point a bit above the roof without the downward loop.

Used one for 6 years at NASCAR races with our Class A. I had suction dent pullers to keep it in place, worked great and never damaged the rv.

Dent pullers are typically under $10 and you can get them ar Walmart or any automotive stores.

The only thing I did differently is not run the ceiling vent fans when the genny was running to avoid pulling any fumes into the rv.
