I have seen some DIY stacks built out of schedule 10 pipe and they have deformed and became "snakes" when the exhaust is "on" for a long period of time. One fellow I met beat this problem by using the "exhaust" pipe for a high efficiency furnace, it does cost a bit more. Personally we have a Gen-Turi and have used it at rallies when boondocking for 7 years. But it does very little good when you get parked next to someone without a stack on the generator and their "Hydro-Hot" mid-ships, it just pumps the fumes into your RV.
