I built one with PVC and yes the traps work great but,,,, why antifreeze? Antifreeze kills dogs. Water works fine. If you're worried about evaporation, add some vegetable oil to it. The oil floats on the water and stops evaporation. Antifreeze is not the most environmentally friendly way to use the trap.

PS: But with North Korea building nukes, it may not matter.

I had an exterminater tell me about the steel wool trick. The mice will not eat through it. He said it's better than any kind of sealant.
I didn't even think about using it in the motorhome. I'll have to give it a try, but I have indoor storage now so I haven't had a mouse problem in a while.

We plugged any holes in our 5th wheel with steel wool when it was parked outside. No mice. We either live in our mh or keep it in the garage at home.

Somebody forgot to tell the mice in the concrete suburbia where I use to live to stay out of the motorhome.

For several years I have fought the mice problem. I tried bounce dryer sheets in all the drawers and cupboards, pepper mint oil in tin foil dishes on the floor and moth balls in the storage compartments. Still had mice, no damage but still they came. Two years ago built the ultimate mouse trap I found on U-tube. You need some lengths of wood to go from the top of the pail to the floor. This works great catch 2 or 3 mice a year and there is no mice droppings any where in the RV. If they come in they go directly to the trap, best design every.

I spent 6 weeks from middle of May on up at Lake Tahoe in a forested RV park. Millions of critters. Even had bears walking by. But mostly mice everywhere.

But I didn't have any inside my RV. What I did was cut a bar of Irish Spring deodorant soap into quarters and place 1 quarter on top of each tire. Then I bought 4 bags of Fresh Cab (Amazon carries it) and placed those inside the RV.

No mice inside the RV whatsoever. Also had backup mouse traps which I'm fine with using if I'd have found any evidence of mice, but I didn't so I never put them out.

I would rather empty a mouse trap, than empty a cat's liter box. you'll get rid of the mouse sooner or later.

To clear/confirm that you have no mice on board, a Jack Russell Terrier works every time! IMO they are really smart dogs too.

My solution is easier. I live in the RV full time along with a Rodent Elimination Prorfessional (Alex the cat) though he'd love to have a few mice come by and join him for lunch..... .Alas, they (the mice) are not so thrilled with the prospect of Mouse TarTar for lunch.

I use two things fresh cab ,farmers use it in there equipt,and peppermint oil .two rv,s three boats in a pole bldg next to corn and bean fields no mice. just lucky I guess.
