Camping near St Louis arriving very late.

OK, I got a weird camping need. My kids 15 & 17 year old girls are going to the Sega Sonic Boom 2013 in St Louis this weekend. Its an all ages event, but I have mixed feelings about being very far away while they are at the event. It is being held at the Pageant. I figured rather than drive over to the Pageant, that I would park the motorhome in a near by lot while the event is on and just hang out for a few hours. The problem is, the event ends at 11:00 PM, so then where do I stay? I would like to go to a camp ground/state park, but setting up camp at 11:30+ pm just doesn't seem like a polite thing to do. We could tow a car, and drive them to the event, but then where do we the parents hang out for several hours? There is an RV parking lot downtown, but DW turned up her nose at that.
  • There is a nice KOA on the westside of St Louis. We stayed there last month, and it was comfortable. Nice owners.
  • If you are coming from the west on I70 there is a place nere by St. Charles on I370 called 370 rv park.
  • When ever we need a late night spot we will always just go to the local Wal*Mart -- well lit no rocks or trees to hit in the dark -- Generally the neighbors understand if you arrive late.

Many Wal*Mart's in the St Louis area are camper restricted so if this is your choice call ahead -- Wal*Mart Map

    BOL,
  • Casino Queen RV Park is 5 miles from the center. I would park there instead of the center. It has a 24 hour shuttle to the Metro Link station. The Metro Link stops at the convention center. Or the shuttle might just drop you off at the convention center. It's a nice RV park. I would make reservations. They offer Good Sam or AAA discounts.
  • there is a campground about 5 miles from the downtown area in St Louis not far from the arch or the American center, we stayed there last summer for a week.
