- doubleGExplorerX2 For OC, MD!!!!! It all depends on what you want to do:
- Assateague Nat Park is ocean front, boat ramp just before bridge
- Castaways has boat ramp and great to go bay fishing on way to inlet. Too, 5 mins to inlet parking lot
- Frontier Town about 10 mins to inlet. They have boat ramp too
Come on down, Hoopers Crab House has the blues! Harbor Side has the 'Crushes', Thrasher's has the fries on the boards and many many other treats here. Great family town, come on down! - LantleyNomad

Assateaque State Park has camping in Ocean City,MD on the Ocean beach.
Very popular place, tough to get a site during peak season.
I promise you, Assateague Island is NOT in Ocean City. I lived there most of my life.
Your comments while technically correct are not beneficial for practical purposes for someone looking for a campground on the beach.
Your comments are just confusing the issue vs. providing useful information to someone seeking assistance.
Assateaque State park is considered Ocean City. Yes it maybe in the next town West Ocean City or whatever it's called?
But for someone traveling hundreds of miles to get there does it really matter if it's located in Ocean City,MD proper or not? The areas are less than 10 miles apart.
For tourism and promotional purposes they are generally considered the same place even if they are not actually in the same town! - mark5wExplorer

Assateague is only 10 miles away. Frontier is only 6 miles away. What's the big deal about that. It's not that long a drive even on busy days. - bertnspikeExplorerAssateaque State Park has camping in Ocean City,MD on the Ocean beach.

Also check out Huntington Beach State Park, just south of MB.. campsites are not far from the surf... - w4phjExplorerJetty Park in Cocoa Beach FL
Ocean Resorts in Ft. Pierce FL - Mike_M2ExplorerCape Canaveral has a CG on the Ocean. Only a parking lot to walk thru and your there.
- MerrykaliaExplorer IIAnother vote for Hunting Island SC.
- don_b1ExplorerBeverly Beach Camptown RV Resort,Beverly Beach, Fl has sites on both sides of Oceanshore Blvd, east side is facing ocean and pricey. The further back you go it gets cheaper.
- TerryallanExplorer IIAS you say You have camped on the OBX. And from the OBX to Myrtle Beach SC, there is only ONE ocean front CG. Surf City, on / TopSail Island, About an hour North of Wilmington. The next oceanfront CG South is Myrtle Beach Travel Park
FYI. Many consider the Crystal coast, or the area around Emerald Isle, and Beaufort, to be the Southern OBX
