Don't know if it is the best but it works just fine for us. It's the Winegard GM2000 Carryout G2 model. It comes with 50 feet of cable(s). It needs 12V to power up initially and find the satellites automatically but then the power cable can be disconnected and stowed leaving only the signal cable attached. It's smaller than some of the older models.
We use it whenever our dome unit can't see thru the trees.

Can't answer your question completely, but I have the carryout by winegard and I Made a mount off the ladder to carry the dish. I can remove the dish if trees are in the way but didn't have to drill any holes except one in the floorboard were the wire came into the coach. Just a thought. Good luck

If you use standard definition, we use Winegard Carryout MP1 Manual.

Has it's own storage box, despite it's smaller size, it is actually easier to find satellites than the bigger dishes. Holds up well over the years.
