OK, I was so happy with what it did at the house we made the drive over to the storage yard to give it a try on the ceiling. WALA!! it is like it never was stained!!! I sprayed a small area and used my finger to rub it in, used a clean white towel and dried it by patting the ceiling. Once I saw the cleaned area I had to finish the job and do it all. This stuff is Awesome. Thank You so much for the heads up, I will pass this info on to all my friends.

Pro carpet cleaners came out and used some stuff back then with great results,saying that it was only for the pros,it was in a plain spray bottle. When I looked in his truck while they were busy and low and behold there were 2 one gallon bottles of Folex

Now I use it for the stains left by the Grandkids, it cleans up anything:B

I have not yet made it to the storage yard to see about the ceiling stain, but I moved some furniture around in the house to vacuum. What I thought was a red ball if lint was some red sticky thing. Well running the beater bar vacuum over it created a wholly mess, not only where it was laying but once the beater bar hit it kind of exploded into the area about the size of a pie pan. Wife NOT happy...So I carried the vacuum out doors, went and got the bottle of Folex that IAMICHABOD suggested. WOW, followed directions, the red stuff disappeared and I also used it to clean the beater bar. This stuff is amazing. I hope it gives the same results on my ceiling. Will post once I get that job taken care of. I bought the big spray bottle at At Bed,Bath and Beyond for $7.00.

We had a problem with water dripping from inside the A/C unit. The service man said that the A/C had at some point been tightened too much and the gasket was compressed and the unit wasn't draining out onto the roof. There may be a bit of a problem with the roof, and more down the sides. We had a bit of mould in the over cab area and had to get that replaced, as well as chuck out the cushions.
Took a while to diagnose -- we thought the front window was leaking.

Thanks for all the great repsonses. The unit has not leaked ever, except when we were driving against the heavy winds and rain. As soon as I can get back to the rig I will attempt the cleaning methods given here. And I will also remove the cover and see if any of those a/c hold down bolts have loosend any.

1st priority is to fix it so it will not continue to leak or big problems will develop.

You did not say what material covers the ceiling.

If the ceiling is covered with a kind of carpet type fabric.

I have had great luck with Folex, just spray it on and BLOT don't rub.

It may take more than one application but it took out all of my water stains.

Because you where in the RV when it happened, instead of finding it a week later when you went to see the RV, you caught it in plenty of time to dry it out and avoid stains. Some bleach or other cleaners will do the trick if nothing weaker will take it out. Start with a mild cleaner and work your way up to bleach.

Also remove the inside cover and look for the 9/16" bolts holding the inside plate to the outdoor unit. They should be tightened to only 50 inch pounds of pressure, that is only 4 foot pounds. So if you have a foot long ratchet, only 4 pounds of pressure to consider them 'tight'. More snug than actually tight. It is compressing a gasket on the roof and sealing the leaks.

You might need to re-tighten them in another month, when the gasket has settled a bit more.
