CHF for my 2016 f53 Baystar

After reading about the CHF I attempted to move my front bar to the 2nd hole as I have read on many posts. When I took the bolts out of the bar I was unable to move the bar to the bottom hole. I loosened the bushing brackets and still could not get the bar to move. When I did this the coach only had 560 miles on it so maybe things had not broke in enough. Am I missing something.
  • On the newer chassis like yours I believe and also our 2014 chassis you will need to lengthen the link to the frame or make brackets for the sway bar. This applies to the front bar. The rear you just flip the ā€œZā€ bracket around. That being said that does not explain why your bar will not move. My guess is it is stiff from being new. I had to jack ours up with a floor jack to properly align the holes one side at a time.

It is important to get the brackets or have the link extended or the bar will be at a awkward angle. While you are at it be sure to check the rear bar bracket mounting bolts for proper torque. Many. Many reports of them being loose. Ours were loose in fact one nut was broken from the weld holding it in place. All bolts were not at proper torque. This with 9000 miles on the rig Use blue locktite on all bolts when tightening. On IRV2.com there is a very long thread about the CHF and also a thread about the loose SB bolts on the F-53 chassis.
