class A brake job

could anyone give me a ball park idea of what to expect in cost for brakes on a 35ft bounder, ford 2008 chassis. I know I need pads and rotors turned. got one estimate of $1700 plus. seems way too much.
anyone recommend good honest place in central florida, either coast ot middle?

  • If you think the rotors need turning many garages probably will insist on replacing them. This place has a great reputation:

  • It really depends on what brakes were used. If it's one of the standard setups used on so many OTR trucks then those big pads a surprisingly cheap. If they're some Ford specific parts then the cost will be many times more.
  • Quick research shows new rotors at around 175-200 each.
    Brake pads about 70 for a set.

    Not sure how they are coming up with the price you are being quoted.
    Keep shopping
  • Tampa Spring Company in Tampa or Ocala does all our chassis and alignment work.

  • Brakes can and will be expensive on the F53 chassis. I've got a 2000 F53 and had the brakes done 2yrs ago. Front pads replaced (no turning of rotors) and had everything replaced in the rear - rotors and pads. Total cost was around $1400.....

  • just help a friend and he had around $600 in high end parts. He replace the rotors instead of turning. Took most of the day. They also were bleed.
  • Seems high... Fort Pierce close enough?
    I can recommend an excellent RV/truck repair shop right near I-95... Small shop, owner is one of the mechanics. He has done a lot of work for me over the years
