Class C Toy Hauler Diesel

Does any manufacturer make a Class C toy hauler with a diesel?

No, I found them on another forum and linked to them. I'm sorta surprised it let me, so hopefully they stay up.

One observation about the F550 as a cutaway chassis: The cab is really low and short compared to the rest of the RV. Unless you are laying on the floor, you won't have any forward vision riding the house. But, it does mean more headroom in the overhead bunk.

The best details so far are here, but STILL no other photos.
  • Thor/Four Winds has a new F550-based Outlaw toy hauler available, but details are light. You can probably look at their other F550 Cs for details.

  • This is for a friend. They take dogs to competitions, often 7 dogs all in cages. The toy hauler portion would be for the dog cages and for use as a mud room.

Don't know about the OP. Mine would be a Smart car.

In my wildest imagination, the garage would fit a Smart car, and become the bedroom when we're parked (likely 2-4 weeks at a time). Roll some carpet down, lower the raised bed, and voila. So the garage would have to have a couple of windows as well.

And we need it used because we won't have the cash to buy it new.

And I want the tooth fairy to leave a unicorn under my pillow... :R
  • How big are your toys? C toy haulers have ranged in size from 14,050 GVWR (garage for a couple dirt bikes) to 40,000 GVWR (will hauls as many as two full size cars and still have a house).

The big ones are custom built on Class 6 to Class 8 straight truck chassis: International, Freightliner, Volvo, whatever you want to pay for. All are diesel, 7 to 15 liter, whatever you want to pay for. You find a truck conversion company and tell them what you want. Renegade is one of the companies building to the RV market, others have primarily commercial customers.

Smaller toy haulers have come and gone, as the market has come and gone. They've been built on E-series, F-series, Kodiak/TopKick, and International Class 4 to Class 6 chassis, with gas engines 6.8 to 8.1 liters, diesel 7 liters and under. Built by FourWinds, Jayco, Gulfstream primarily. There was at least one FourWinds FunMover with room for a small car, but that didn't leave much room in the house. Most small toyhaulers are sized to carry ATVs.
  • Have been looking for this myself. Answer is yes.

    Here are three from RVTrader.

Thor is also apparently planning one. The Nexus Ghost can be made as a toy hauler also.

FWIW, I've been thinking that the only possible way to FT with a class C toy hauler would be with a diesel engine. Can't see how it would be possible to have the necessary CCC otherwise.

If anyone thinks otherwise, would love to hear some experiences.
