Do not mop yourself into a corner and have to walk on the wet washed RV roof....it is a long way to the ground from the top of the RV. Just saying be carefull it can get really slick.
Go easy on that kind of advice. . . You'll put a lot of paramedics out of work if everyone takes it. :B - BumpyroadExplorer

I would much rather use a product that is stated to be safe for use on fiberglass and Gelcoat. Two products I know of are Bon Ami powder cleanser and Bar Keepers Friend cleanser. Both of those products are safe on fiberglass!!! Other products are abrasive and will scratch the surface. If they do not say "Safe on Fiberglass", don't use them!!!
I "assume" that is only after you totally dissolve them?

That and buy some Sperry TopSiders boat shoes LOLOL - steveownbyExplorerI have found that Mr Clean Magic Eraser on a sponge mop handle works great. I can easily do my 40' roof without scrubbing on my hands and knees. Then follow with plenty of water. Follow up with a coat or two of Mop N Glo and you're done. Be careful and don't let the Mope N Glo run down the sidewalls. The streaks are hard to get off.

No coating will stop the black streaks since these is cost by accumulated dirt on the roof, that runs down the sides due to moisture, etc. Some areas of the country will cause your roof to accumulate more dirt, and darker dirt, than other areas of the country. The wash/wax concentrate puts a coat of wax on the painted surface and helps to offer a little bit of protection from the elements as well as providing a waxed surface which may allow some dirt to wash off easily.
Obviously when washing the roof, you need to be careful so that you do not fall on the slippery surfaces.
The wash/wax concentrate is the ONLY thing that I do to my entire coach, twice a year. The paint looks great and since it is a high quality polyurethane full painted exterior, it already had UV protection. I do not do any hand waxing anywhere and feel that it is a waste of time on my coach. - Doug_and_Cassi_ExplorerI just use the regular car wash soap. I then put a couple of coats of Mop n Glo on it to prevent the white streaks. Just be careful that you don't let the M & G run down the sides.
- J-RoosterExplorerRobert, I use Simple Green to clean my roof a 1 to 1 mixture. I never put an anti oxidation formula on the roof of my RV too much labor and cost prohibited, but if I was ever to do that it would be Aerospace 101! I spent all winter in Arizona and cleaned my roof before I left home and the AZ. sun bleached my white roof to where it looks near new!
