Cleaning the Class A while using it?

How do RV users keep them clean when using them? Most campgrounds don't allow you to clean them while camping. Inevitably we will end up driving in the rain thus getting them filthy.

So how do you keep them clean when in use?

Not looking to hear how you clean it when you get home. We all know how to do that.

  • Well,
I carry a small, 1.3gpm Karcher Pressure washer. It's smaller than the EU2000 Honda Generator. I set up a water supply for it from the water pump. I also have one of those fold-up ladders. It takes me about 1-2 minutes to get setup for a wash job. Yep, I've encountered many camp grounds/RV parks that frown on you washing your coach.

But, they do allow for a "private" company to come in and wash it for you, AT A SUBSTANTIAL COST! So, if ours is getting bad, I find a remote corner of a Kmart or, Walmart or, Home Depot or, any other large parking lot and, park in the corner and go at it with my little setup.

I've even done it at larger rest stops, in a section that I'm not in the way. I can power the pressure washer from either the Inverter or, the generator, depends on my mood at the time.

Now, this is one of those things again that's COMMON SENSE. I don't have gallons and gallons of water running all over the parking lots etc. As I stated, it's a 1.3GPM Pressure washer. You can just get it wet enough to soap and brush down, then, just barely enough water to do an efficient rinse. The whole process, start to finish, setup, wash-rinse, dry and put things away, takes us about an hour.

We use our own water, and, there's no mess. The rinse water barely puddles at the base of the coach. This system works real slick.

    Waterless Washing

I haven't tried this costly product yet, but have been reading up on it.

I actually was able to wash my RV at a city owned RV park in Washington State and the park attendants loaned me the bucket and brush.

I have used this for a couple years, works great.
  • When I read the title subject
I thought you were talking about the inside, not the outside
I mean most people talk about washing a vehicle, not about cleaning a vehicle
, just stop at the truck wash station , of the coin operated car wash, the one with cat walks, pretty common around here, that's where I go
  • While on the road we will take advantage of RV washing services when offered at CG's.
  • On my coach I have an external hose bib. It uses my electric pump and my fresh water. All I have to do is hook up a water hose and wash my coach at a rest stop or any other place I decide to stop during my trip. Most RV parks do not like it because it leaves a puddle that the other people have to deal with. I wash mine before I get to an RV park or after I leave.
