Coach net vs FMCA road side assist

Wed have FMCA's Roadside Rescue and had the unfortunate experience in using them twice. The only reason I say unfortunate because we broke down twice:(.

Both times they made sure we were safe and called once they found a tech or wrecker. The also called to make sure that the services arrived when they said they would. They then called back on a follow-up to ensure all went well.

Safe Ride is what most roadside assistance network uses. The big difference is what each plan covers. FMCA roadside rescue does cover any vehicle we own. For 75 bucks a year it is well worth the money it costs.

We purchased roadside rescue after attending a FMCA seminar in Perry. You do have to have a current FMCA membership, which also has other benefits.

I have been using Coachnet for 16 years and have called them in some very remote locations, always very responsive. I belong to FMCA but never used their services.

Coach Net has been great the times I have called them. In my opinion, don't even consider Good Sam. I have had (past tense) their plan.....

I think years ago Coachnet was the one to have. They used out of network providers and had call staff 24/7. I had great service when our toad broke down 50 miles from our CG on a Sunday and they had me a tow in 30 mins. In recent years I think they were purchased by an investment firm and their service has fallen back on par with everyone else which I think for the most part is OK. Their prices also went up. I think issues happen when you fall out of their parameters (locations, time of day, day of the week etc). Following this conversation as of right now we don't have an RSA.

There is value that I can add here....

Coachnet, FMCA, Good Sam and even AAA RVplus all work the same. I suggest that you read (aka study) about what they offer. This is where the difference is.

None of the above own any hardware. They all negotiate services with local suppliers. If they can find a right one, you are in luck.

We've had and used both and yes, they are on par with each other. Neither one is worth a hoot nor a hollar. I'd put Good Sam right there with them too. Easier to simply google roadside repair. Faster and better service too....Dennis
