FMCA Roadside Assistance Program

When we went to renew Coach Net we found out they no longer offer the Gold membership and had to renew at the premium lever for a substantially higher premium. I looked on the FMCA website for more info and they program being offered makes no mention of Coach Net but said the program is powered by Vis??? or some such.

I would appreciate any clarification of what is going on with these programs.
  • Wouldn't it be better to ask on a FMCA Forum about Coach-Net rather than on a Good Sam Forum?
    Just saying :)
  • Renewed my Gold plan this month. No indication that it was no longer available. They accepted my payment.

  • Well, just passing along info I've picked up on this issue. It seems that Coach Net is no longer affiliated with FMCA and the FMCA roadside assistance program is being administered by a company call VAS. Of interest is that the folks I just chatted with at FMCA are getting a lot of complaints from members about the change.

I was told that Coach Net made demands of FMCA that were impossible to comply with and that Coach Net then severed the relationship. With that said, the FMCA folks are still recommending Coach Net over their in house product.

    Interesting but frustrating.
  • Good Sam, Fmca and most others contract with OTR road service companies. These in many cases (hopefully) are the same ones over the road trucks use not some auto service which hasnt a clue about RV needs
That said I thought FMCA dropped coach net some time ago. due to cost reasons . I assume fmca wasn't getting enough "referal" fee and went shopping.
I Know when i called GS roadside the person I spoke with forgot which line she was on and said "Allstate roadside er I mean Good Sam roadside" ;)
  • I asked Coach Net about that last year. I was told that the Gold plan was no longer being offered, but those with the plan can continue to renew. If you ever change plans, then you're out of luck and cannot go back to the Gold plan.

Actually it was Coach Net that dropped FMCA and teamed up with GS. Much larger client base
  • I think you may have been given bad info ? GS which I just used, contracts (and has) with Allstate ,not Coach Net! I just spoke with the rep on the phone a couple months ago when i used GS roadside.
FMCA is now contracting with separate third company.
