The service provider will bring a tire to you and replace your bad tire. The only problem with that is you will probably pay high retail for the tire since you can't shop around.

I am planning on carrying a tire with me for just that reason.

The service provider will bring a tire IF they have that tire size available. Most service on the road is for semi truck and trailer. Motor home tires don't fall into this realm and may need to be ordered causing a delay and a need to be towed. My solution was to carry just an unmounted spare tire. The service mechanic had no problem mounting it when we did have a flat.

Yes, they will bring a tire which may or may not be the same brand as your other tires and may or may not be the same diameter. They also may not have the ability to balance the tire at the side of the road altho they may bring some type of balancing beads/powder.
Some of us carry an unmounted tire and a bag of balancing beads with us for just such an occasion.

you get Free Roadside "service" towing etc however you will pay for a tire at the time.That will be changed roadside
Motorhomes (especially ones with 22.5 wheels) do not come with spare tires. Since you are now essentially in the "heavy Truck" category a commercial Truck service will come to you with the tire.Most large trucks do not carry a spare.
As stated you can purchase a tire and carry it with you if you have room. You will save a few bucks on the tire .. maybe a hundred dollars! ?
My opinion is However the chance you will have a flat is rare and the tire you purchase will age out the same as those in use. and technically will need to be replaced when the others are at 6-7 years. Thus carrying around a 4 -5 + hundred dollar ,up front cost, tire that most likely will never be used to "save a hundred bucks ...IF you ever need it
.I quess as a commercial driver I never have understood the economy of that choice.
as to if Your size tire is common call a few "Commercial" heavy truck tire places that do Towing ( the guys you will meet roadside,and thats not your corner tire store) to see if they carry it in stock and the cost.
Only you can decide whats right for you.

I have read that some service providers won't mount your tire for liability reasons. Anyone else out there experience that? We have used Coach Net on our toad and they provided very good service, calling back and making sure we were safe and that the service provider arrived within specified time.

My CoachNet (Gold level) benefit states that they will change the tire using our spare, or mount a similar tire to use for towing to the nearest repair facility.

Does anyone have any actual first hand experience contrary to that?

We are trying to understand how they will handle this. One of our previous camping units had the infamous Carlisle tires. We suffered flats on two adjoining days, so we know stuff can happen.

Best to carry an old spare and something that will at least get you to a tire shop for pricing, matching and possible warranty claims. CN will send someone to change it out on the spot, but they can only do so much with the tire shop having whatever in stock and for a price that you want to pay. Once in a while you make out anyway and we had a blowout on the NY state thruway. Since it was about time for replacing the two on the tag axle anyway and since the price was very reasonable, we just had them both done right there on the side of the road, with no need for balancing them. This saved us looking for a shop to do it all over again and probably wouldn't have beat the price anyway. They also had the brand that would be acceptable to most. We did consider ourselves lucky that time around and one can't ever depend on this scenario for being the norm or ever repeating itself again.

My tires weigh 120lbs each and a spare would take up significant space. As already mentioned, the spare would age whether it's mounted or not. I don't carry a spare for these reasons. Roadside tire replacement if necessary is my choice.

I agree. And the tire could be 2, 3, 4, or even 5 years old when it finally gets installed. Not worth the effort of hauling it around all that time.

I agree BUT, next time you replace tires, consider keeping the very best one for a spare.
