CoachNet changes??

I have had ERS for over 25 years, I started with Good Sam and it was alright. Used it once. Switched to CoachNet through FMCA a few years later. I have used it maybe 3 times. One was a tow in Mexico that cost over $400. It was covered. I have had zero complaints with the service. BUT: Things have changed. FMCA dropped Coach Net. Coach Net modified and renamed their plans to where it is like buying aluminum siding. Almost a scam. I always had the Platinum plus which has very good coverage. It is pricey at $129.50. They will renew at that price. But if you go online and look at the offered plans they show a Ltd.,Basic and Premium. The Basic looks like the Platinum Plus but it is only $89.00??? What gives? Who's on first? Very Confusing. I am almost tempted to switch over to GS but worry the service will not be the same.

    Coach net left us hanging and refused to pay for service call or a tow when we ran over a retread in the road. It wrapped around our genny exhaust and bent it so it was rubbing on the road. Still no explanation why. I have since dropped them and gone to GS. We'll see how that goes.

    If you look at their chart on the Coach net web site they have "limited", "basic", and "premium" plans. Each higher plan offers additional services that you may or may not need or want.

    I agree something has changed. I've had CN since my coach was new in 2007. First seven years I used it twice and both times they provided great service. This year they wanted not to provide road service, but finally agreed to send out a tech if I paid the entire cost which was $200, $100 for the road service call and $100 for the service. I also carry GS and found out my insurance also provides road service so when renewal comes around CN is history for us.

    I've had GS for several years. Needed them twice and had no issues, they just took care of business. Very nice actually, GS even called afterwards both times to make sure I was happy with everything.

    No, FMCA did not drop CoachNet. It was the other way around. CoachNet decided to go with Good Sam as they supposedly have a larger member base. GS got their member base when they merged with Camping World so GS counts all the members of the CW data base.

    If you remember, CW used to attend the FMCA conventions and now they don't.

    I'm pretty sure no roadside assistance would be out to help you for bent generator exhaust and pay for it.

    I'll beg to differ with that. GS plan does not have any restrictions like that. Heck they even cover any other vehicle I happen to be riding in. They covered a mechanic to come to my then house for bad batteries. I was just out of hospital and couldn't put the new batteries in myself, but I had to move the MH for some other repairs.
    Beat that.

    Batteries effect the running of the vehicle, no? Does the generator exhaust?

    It's like calling them to say your microwave isn't working. They MIGHT send a tech out to look at it, but it certainly won't be on their dime because it does not effect the operation of the vehicle or cause it to be inoperable.

    Ok, call to GS. Yeah it was that quick to get an answer. If because of the damage the MH could not be driven SAFELY, it's covered AND the policyholder gets to decide what is safe!!!! Once GS dispatches they cover it, unless of course you are not honest with them on the phone. DONE, OK. Call them yourself if you don't believe me!
