Cooler for Motorhome

Go to a marine store, get one of the white marine models.

They will keep ice for days on a hot dock in the summer in the Bahamas.

I think Coleman is one of the brands if not the primary brand.

I have a Coleman Xtreme, It will hold ice for a few days. I freeze gallon milk jugs of water and then cut open the jugs and put it in the cooler. Best cooler going is the cheAP white styrofoam types. They seem to hold ice twice as long as anything else out there. The other thing is to try and have whatever your putting into the cooler already cold. that makes a big difference in ice longevity.

I have a Coleman Xtreme. I left it on the deck last summer, filled with ice for a BBQ. It held for a week! It was 75-80 degrees, cllor sat in the shade for half the day. The lid did stay closed the entire time as well. I am buying a smaller one for the TT this summer.

If you buy wine in the box, after emptying the contents, take the plastic bag out of the box, fill it with water and freeze it flat in the bottom of your freezer. When frozen it takes up less space in the bottom of the cooler than jugs. Also provides drinking water after it thaws.

Space is precious, in a MH. I've discovered there is a lot of room under our dash, anyways. I've been thinking, which is dangerous, or one of those small chest type refrigerators, on a slide under the dash area.
Plenty, of juice from alternator or inverter or generator.Maybe a long sipping straw from a jug of tea,, with lemon, of course through a hole in the refrigerator.
Of course half the our regular refrigerator is occupied with soft drinks, tea and so on, on a trip. probably three hundred pounds of them in cabinets, down low. Wife won't drink anything but Meller Yeller and it ain't available everywhere.

Agreed on the Yeti. I have two of them and they are the best ice chest I have ever owned. A little tip for best results... The night before put a frozen gallon of water in the ice chest and it will keep ice for days in very high heat.

I use quart or gallon jugs freeze them and they last several days.
I also have igloo extreme which works good.
I insulated an old rubbermaid cooler with 1 inch foam insulation inside top bottom and sides. And it keeps a bag of ice 4-5 days in 90 degree weather.

if you are handy, you can purchase and install a ice maker in your refrigerator for about $75,00. Less than the price of a good cooler. not a very hard job at all

I was just in Costco an hour ago and they had Pelican coolers that are to keep ice for 7-9 days according to the literature. The price was $299 and I think they were 48 qt. but don't hold me to that. They were very nice looking coolers meaning they had very thick walls.
